The petition is up!

I wanna thank Lori for most of the work getting it in order.
Please forward to everyone you know.

I have also spoken to Sam Calhoun, Parks Superintendent in El Paso.
He sounds concerned and open to suggestions. Let's start communicating!
He have to brainstorm and get our message out there.

What features would you like to see in the new dog park in West El Paso?

I personally like the activity obstacles in Eastwood Park.
I'm not sure how much those cost the city but having lived in Colorado Springs I've seen some really happy dogs that are just happy with room to run and chase a ball and maybe some big tree trunks to jump on.

I'm going to be uploading some photos soon.
Anybody got any ideas how we can incorporate a southwest theme? Maybe an old ghost town look? Rustic wood, fake cactus, a big horse troff with water?

Hay, everyone--I finally got a hold of Wieland Realty to ask about the HUGE, unoccupied plot of land located at the corner of Redd Road & Doniphan--it's about five acres, and I asked my husband, "Think it's going for like $6000?" figuring people could pitch in and all buy it together--what do I know; I've lived my whole life on military property... But--uhhhhhh--I need to watch more of those "Property Fixer-Upper" shows, coz Mr. Wieland informed me that the lot was "going for $1,642,815, which was actually only $7.50 per"....something--I didn't hear anything after the word "million".... so much for that brilliant idea....

Wow. I didn't think that any piece of land in El Paso could be worth that much. Haha.

It looks like the dog park in Las Cruces is set to open in February 2009.
The design of the new park in West El Paso has been rumored to already been designed, but the Superintendent has no info on it.

We need more signatures on the petition and I'll be printing some business cards this week.
